I was given my grandfathers 77 f150 ranger. It has a few problem that i would like some help figuring out. sometimes when Im driving down the road the engine will just die, it acts like the keys were turned off, most of the time it will start back up after a few time trying to start it. Ive replaced the fuel filter, the coil, the starter relay, and the ignition switch. any ideas on were i should look next.

I would check the points? If it has the newer electronic Distributer then tech the control modgual and pick up inside the Distributer. The modguals on the side are known to go bad? Not sure if anyone has upgraded it or not?

thanks for the help. ill check this weekend, any good tips on specs for the distributor.

I changed the pickup in the distributor and the ignition module and it fixed the problem I good strong spark. thanks for the help.

No problem. That was a common problem on the 70s model fords. It even went into the early 80s. Glad you found it..
