We purchased a 1947 Ford Pickup with a factory flatbed and v-8 from my wife's grandfather. It has been sitting in a shed since 1989. We have not removed it yet and are unsure of the overall condition.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about options that were available for these trucks. This one has a visor and clearance lights. Is this rare on a pickup of this vintage? In doing image searches I don't see many with either. Thanks for any info!
You're not going to find much on the internet about a 1947 vehicle. The internet didn't exist then; very little documentation from back then has been digitized; and very few people who were alive then are interested in posting their memories about old vehicles to the net. Nor will anyone know if you modify that, assuming it hasn't already been modified 100x.
Looks like a cool project, I agree with Steve here. Looks like a lot of the rig is still intact, I don't know if these ever came with a factory flatbed, not a big deal either way. I don't know if anyone can decode your VIN.
