Default X-Plan Questions

Any idea if there is an official published list of companies that use X-Plan pricing? I see a lot of dealers publish lists, though I am unsure if they are up to date or not. Also do subsidiaries count, if they are listed? i.e. you work for company ABC and that company owns XYZ. XYZ is listed as an X-plan. Do you qualify for X-Plan pricing in this manner?

The answer to all that is, maybe. You need to sign up for the X-Plan program and generate a PIN. You don't just go to a dealer and say, "I work for ABC, who owns XYZ, X-Plan Pricing!", you get X-Plan Site access (www.myplan.ford.com), then on that site you click to generate your PIN.

There are a number of companies and societies that get you X-Plan access, and if you know a Ford employee they can also generate a PIN for you (just not their A-Plan PIN unless related). The easiest one to get into, last I heard, was the Mustang Club of America. I haven't look in quite some time, but they had a digital membership that was around $30/year and that also got you X-Plan pricing. Owning 20 or 30 shares of Ford stock I think also gets you access to X-Plan pricing (May be more shares, this is all top of my head). In all, it's NOT that hard to get. If you can get it through company XYZ relies entirely on your ability to access their benefits site and follow it through to their X-Plan pricing How To, nobody on here can guide you on that unfortunately, especially not knowing what company XYZ is.

Having said all that, you can sometimes beat X-Plan pricing through direct dealer negotiation, but, you have to be extra, extra careful with that. I have seen people say they beat X-Plan pricing, but then come to find out they got taken pretty good in doc fees and some other items that X-Plan/A-Plan put a limit on and they really didn't do better than X-Plan. There are plenty that did legitimately beat X-Plan, but I think that will be a lot tougher on a new gen truck.

GM & FCA have a lookup site/tool that will tell you if you're company is eligible, but I haven't seen one from Ford. Best option would be to contact your HR department and ask them as someone will know, or can at least tell you who to talk too. If you have a company vehicle fleet manager, that would be another person to ask about the discount.

You can buy Ford stock, but it is 100 shares, and you need to own them for a period of time (3-6 months?). You can also only get 1 pin per year as a shareholder versus 2 pins per year as an employee of an affiliate company. The Mustang Club program just changed at the start of 2021. It's still an option, but you need a different level membership now compared to before and there's a time limit before you can generate a pin. There are other clubs you can join as well with varying restrictions before you can take advantage of X-Plan.

If your company has a fleet code with ford, then that is likely your "partner code". You use that along with your employment info to generate a PIN on the X-Plan Partner website:

Interestingly...the company I work for has (actually HAD) a division that made the locking rear ends for these trucks. So for years it was just mention you work for...ZXY...and you get their X Plan pricing. So when I bought my truck I told the salesman to give me that discount, which he did...fairly significant...supposedly. Anyway, long story...long...is that my employer sold off that division a couple of years ago. So there really wasn't an applicable X Plan discount. When I mentioned this to them it was like, "Oh, okay...no big deal, thanks.".

Often an employee of company that is "owned" by another company will qualify, as they are often also listed as a "sub" of the main company's fleet code as well.

However, the employee of a separate company that is under contract, or an individual that is under contract, does not qualify for X-plan pricing. The separate contracted company would also not be able to use the contractor's fleet code for fleet pricing either.

Doesn't sound like they really gave it to you.

X-Plan isn't a "discount" exactly. It is a set selling price a fixed percentage over dealer cost. The X-plan price is printed on every invoice, along with the A-plan (ford employee) price, ask to see it. You pay that price to the penny, less any manufacturer rebates you qualify for. There are some incentives that are excluded, but those are rare and usually things like "loyalty" offers for trading an Escape for an Escape.

I have been searching all over our internal portals. The only thing I found was some true car employee pricing. We are a large utility company that owns many smaller regional power companies. We have Fords in the fleet, though I haven't seen a code or anything. I found the name of the local utility company listed on random dealer's website, but not on a different dealer with a similar list. I did join MOAC, though don't know if the probation period will be over. We are getting two Ford's. My F-150 I got below x-plan, though we found a Mustang Mach-E that will be arriving at a distant dealer in mid May.

Contact your fleet manager, he should know the fleet code. From there you can get a pin using the website I linked above.

At least up here in Canada, the Mach-E does is not eligible for x-plan pricing.

Just checked using my partner code and the Mach E is eligible for me at least in the US, however the savings is not much ($500-1000 under MSRP). There are models that are ineligible and once you log in, you can access the list, typically low volume and/or special models (Raptor, GT500, etc.)
