Can a windshield stress fracture be healed without having to have a full windshield replacement? Approx half inch fracture has suddenly appeared on driver's side field of view and I'm not happy - the truck is quite new.

Get it to a windshield place like Safelight and see if they can repair it.

Age of the truck is irrelevant when it comes to glass breaking. There are many causes for a cracked windshield.

Hopefully they can fix it and your insurance will cover it.

 

Run a ball point pen along the crack. If it catches anywhere, and I'd bet it will, a rock or something hit it and chipped it.

Sometimes a repair can be done, but it won't be totally invisible. Replacement is the only way to do that.

 

Nope. It's worth a trip to the dealership and let them decide if it is in fact a warranty repair or not. You'll save your insurance deductible, if you have one. You'll need to have it replaced either way.
