Default Wind trying to pull the hood off

2021 STX In high winds ,when a simi is coming at you the does your hood act like it not latched? First time this happened I stopped and made sure it was latched. So I started watching what.was going on. When the “concussion” hits the hood rises all the way back to the hinges.

Vehicles push a ton of air, if not more, in front of them.

Perhaps your buffers need adjustment

I also have a 2021 STX and noticed this in the past too. It freaked me out the first time it happened, I hope one day it doesn't take it off!

The GM/Chevy Canyon/Colorado had similar complaints for years when the new design was released a few years back.
Seemed like daily there was another "hood flutter" complaint thread.
Got to the point where a question like "what is the largest tire size I can install to reduce hood flutter" as they were one in the same post counts. ha

This thread today marks exactly 2 comments I recall reading about a bad hood situation.

I can't imagine the stickers on an STX has anything to with only an STX having the issue, unless it's the grill design. I'm not well versed to know if the STX grill is shared with other models.

Hmmm, interesting observation. My 2021 Lariat’s hood has been rock-solid at highway speed, even when passing opposing semi traffic.

Seems a side by side comparison is in order. Maybe the higher end trucks have some extra aero sealing up front?

Which engine do you have in your STX? I don't know if all the trucks have the shutters in the front or not. I know my 2.7 Ecoboost has two as my auto body guy is waiting for them to be available to fix my front end damage. The shutter should be blocking air flow to the hood itself. I take it that you do not have a bug shield on your hood. Does your hood have any movement if you press down on it anywhere in the front?

It sounds like adjusting your screw-in hood stops should solve the problem. It’s not uncommon to see them tossed onto new vehicles without proper height adjustments.

This^ super common across many manufacturers to have the hood stops not adjusted correctly

It's not just the STX's. This happens on my 2021 XLT too.
