When does Ford retool for next model year?
IIRC correctly don't they close ordering banks in mid/late summer and typically retool in fall?
I am considering canceling my current order and waiting on a 2022, if it spends another month or two on Ramp 59.

Ford usually shuts down assembly plants for two weeks for "summer shutdown". That has been cancelled for this year.
Most model year changes don't require much by way of retooling. In fact, most years, it's a running change that quite literally occurs over a weekend. Typically, the only time there is any protracted retooling is when there are major changes (completely generation change), such as with the upcoming 2022 Super Duty. Order banks for the SD have been closed for a while, and I'm sure KTP has used some of the unplanned downtime (this week and next week, for sure) to start making changes.

This question keeps coming up. There is no official date yet.
If they go by past years, they start accepting orders around late August, start building in one plant around late September, early October at the second, and on the lots around mid to late October.
But things haven't been normal for awhile now. No telling this year with the commodity problems.

Order banks for the 21 opened in July of 2020 with production starting October 12.
2022 entered production November 15.
a lot of people ordered 2021, but delays in production meant they ended up with 2022. Changes in packages caused many to be upset they did get this or that...
If you want something before year end for tax purposes, order a 22. Now. Especially if it's a high spec trim level.
