You're supposed to be able to, there's a cut-out under the oil drain plug.

Washed and filled it up after my road trip.

Almost 1200 miles total, mostly freeway around 74-75ish. Decent amount of highway around 60, just a little city. Truck said 20.8 while an app said 20.24mpg. A bit disappointing and not even close to rated mpg.

A, roughly the same, trip a month ago (colder temps) in the Camry got 38.4 at about 4mph faster, and rated 39 highway.

Sorry to hear about the Camry. My eclipse trip earlier this month showed 23.1 but manual calculations netted 23.7

Disappointed? You weren't going at the speeds they use for the test. Much higher. I always run with 3mph over speed limit whenever on a long trip. Haven't done a higher speed comparison on the F150, but on another car going 75 for several hundred miles gave me 17mpg versus 19. I can easily get the EPA rating and better on my V8. Call me Mr. Lightfoot.

Yes disappointed. I was going even faster in the car and it still pretty much got rated. Same with my old 4Runner. This thing not even close. It also doesn't get close to city rated while babying the gas around town.

I'm not expecting great mileage, but at least get what it says. Almost all of my other vehicles have, with the exception of a Tundra.

Mileage aside love the truck!

A great looking truck. I got the same with the 502A. Where did you get the tires? Mine came with passenger type Pirellis and they are kinda wimpy looking for a truck.

As for gas miles I'm coming from a 2002 supercrew with a 5.4 litre so I'm happy to see 20.6 on the new one with the 3.5. It should be better according to the sticker but it seems to be ticking up as more miles are put on. It has about 2800 now. I use cruise control on the highway and I think that helps. My wife says I drive like an old farmer so no tearing around locally.

How can Ford put out such claims and not deliver? One would think the Government would come down on them. In my state MA. they are thinking about going after anyone that has modified their truck and it causes it to get fewer gas miles..... Yikes.
