Default wacked an electric pole

A lot of traffic at the post office so pulled close to the curb. I didn't realize the electric pole was so close to the street I was parking and only going less than 1 mph. Hit my mirror and now has a few light scratches. lucky it just folded and nothing broke.

My question is how can you get some light scratches out of textured plastic?

Normally would not be concerned - but hate having any damage on a new truck.

You may be able to get it out with a heat gun and some ingenuity

Be glad you didn't hit something with your bumper. My daughter tail ended a co-worker coming out of work and she dented the bumper of my 2020 STX truck.

Bumpers from the cheapest online dealers run over $600, and mine has to still be painted the color of my truck. I'll order touch up paint online and do the job. But there are so many parts mounted to a bumper from behind.

You should be able to buy a new cap for the mirror. I caught one on my garage door and broke one of the tabs. I don't recall it being that expensive but it was on a 2016 at the time.

Heat guns and textured plastic don't mix well. You have to find something that can imprint the plastic similar to the texture after you heat it, or you end up with a repair that's glossier than the rest of the part.

Textured plastic caps are the cheapest of caps. I'd either replace it, or upgrade to painted caps.

You can cover the scratch (and the whole plastic section) after smoothing with a small sheet of vinyl to match. Provided it’s clean and you can tuck the corners.
