Vibration at Idle
So I purchased my 2021 F150 5.0 single cab. I don’t like the auto restart on the truck so I leave it off when I’m at a stop light. I noticed a vibration on idle. The truck shakes more than I would think a new truck should shake. It shakes while it warms up. I take it to the dealership and they keep saying it’s normal for these new trucks to shake on idle. I wanted your guys input with your trucks. Maybe it is normal and I gotta deal with it, or the dealership is full of **** and doesn’t wanna repair it.
I can't remember if my 2016 5.0L did but my 2019 Ecoboost does a bit but not bad. Over the years seems more vehicles had an intermittent shake at low rpms on idle around 500 or 600 rpms. The shake is completely gone at an idle rpm of 750 rpms or so, as that's warming up. Not uncommon to have a shake here and there after it warms up.
You may have bad gas or low octane 87. With these new vehicles recommending 91+, I wouldn't use anything less. Yes it can be used, but they recommend 91+ octane for a reason, most likely that these engines "RUN" better on 91+ octane.
What are you comparing it to that has no shake on idle?? Usually the smaller displacement the engine, the more vibration and shake.
