Default Upgrading onboard A/C electrical capabilities

While on vacation last summer we woke up to a power outage, no coffee. So I took the coffee maker out to the truck and plugged it into the outlet in the bed of the truck. It didn’t work. I now know I should have ordered the optional higher wattage offering. Is there any way of improving or replacing my current setup?

So far, not much help. I was hoping to swap out what I have with the other higher powered option that was available to me when I custom ordered the truck… oh well, I suppose I could always park my Honda 3.5 kw generator in the bed. It currently sits in my garage, gets no use as the last (extended) power outage my house experienced was many years ago. Gotta take some measurements to see if it will fit under the tonneau cover. And yes, before anyone cautions me, I would only run it while stationary with the tonneau cover up!

You could get this:
Amazon Amazon

it works with the 400w bed plug.

You can run a larger external inverter but will need heavy gauge wire direct off the battery and a heavy load will soon run down your battery. This cable set is only 6' if needing a longer run a larger diameter cable set might even be required.

2 ga inverter cables

Thanks. The larger inverter would be what I was seeking, and with it heavier cabling. (I always assumed when running the higher rated stock inverter the motor would need to be running lest I end up with a dead battery. And the stock version probably came with a higher rated alternator too.) The smaller one cup coffee makers would work but the cottage houses too many adults for that size to work… but in a pinch, yes, it’s better than no coffee at all!

The pro power models get 240A vs 200A or something?
I think your most economical option is a camp stove, an emergency can of Folgers Crystals, and try not to think about what you're drinking.

Install this under the rear seat. Has remote turn on. Tap into factory wiring locations if you want OEM like install. Source 2ga welding cable to feed it directly to the battery. If there's a solid frame ground you can find, you don't need to route all of the way to the batt with the negative. https://www.harborfreight.com/2000-w...ter-57272.html
This is superior to the factory so called 2kW inverter --- that thing is trash.

Perhaps the first time I have heard a Harbor Freight product is superior to an OEM product. Perhaps you should drop a note to Ford and let them know.
