Default Upgrading 12v battery

Hey folks, this morning my 2022 PB Plat sent me a message:"your beloved truck has entered Deep Sleep mode to conserve battery". The truth is that I was working on truck for a couple of days, but hardly drove it, plus I have a dual dashcam. And when I measured the battery, it was 11.78v
Now I want to upgrade the factory H7 battery (800 CCA, 80Ah) to Costco's Energizer H8 battery that is rated 900 CCA and 95Ah (plus nothing beats Costco battery warranty and price)
Of course, H8 battery is slightly larger, but 2021 diesel versions do use H8, so I hope that can fit. Did anyone do such an upgrade?
- Ford battery has some sort of thermal jacket - not sure if that can stretch for a bigger battery or I should try to order one (good luck with ordering any Ford parts)
- Is there anything special about Ford batteries (other than slightly lower specs)?
- Will anything get locked or erased during the battery swap? On my very old Honda, a special code is required to unlock the head unit (radio/HVAC). Anything like that on 2022 F150?

Any suggestions and feedback are appreciated!

You have a computer controlled management system that knows the size and capacity of the original new battery, as the battery ages it records the battery getting weak and adjusts the charge rate and charge time to top off the deteriorated batter to it's best potential, not the potential of a new battery of that size. When a new battery of exact replacement is put in the battery management system has to be told it's a new battery or it will just charge the new battery up to the capability of the old battery.

Same thing applies the battery management system must be set to the rating of the new higher capacity battery so it will know to change the charge characteristics to match the battery type you have upgraded to.

Thanks, so what can I practically do? I was thinking to fully charge the new battery by itself, swap it on truck with everything off, and not touching the truck for 8+ hrs. Will that help for BMS to learn the new battery?
If I get the dealership to do a BMS reset, will that help?
I do not think dealership will agree to upload H8 profile to my truck BMS... there is no 2022 diesel (that requires H8)

If you’re not driving enough to keep an 800CCA battery charged I then you’re not going to drive enough to keep a 900CCA battery charged. What’s the point in replacing the battery?

Many people have had issues with a bad battery on their trucks, even when driving them everyday. I'd say you're better off getting an exact replacement to start as it seems like Ford spec'd out crappy batteries for the trucks. I'd try to get the dealer to replace it under warranty first.

You do have a point, however that is not entirely accurate. The expectation is that BMS will adjust to charge the battery with whatever engine run time is available (= slightly bigger current based on voltages, etc.), so at the end, with all other parameters equal, I should end up with a bit more battery charge (due to larger capacity of the new battery)

Exchanging the battery at this point is not yet feasible, as dealership will say "nothing wrong with your battery, just drive more".

However, I do need a bigger battery - have a dashcam with a parking mode, and winter is coming... (Dashcam add-on battery is a price of a small donkey - more than a new H8, and even if I go for it, it won't solve all the problems)
The question - is there way to get get BMS to correctly recognize a larger battery and charge it correctly? I cannot imagine BMS to be so hard coded to a very specific battery for many reasons...

Forscan showed a battery selection menu on my 2015. Can someone with a 2021+ confirm if H8 is an option for them?

There are (2) 12v batteries in the Power Boost.

2nd battery is under the jump seat on the passenger side.

Maybe just maybe people are changing out the wrong battery.

The truck is programmed for it's OEM tire size, so I'm not sure why this would be so hard to believe ... ?

To keep all your settings etc… get this or similar: plug a 9v battery and you are good to go.
