I got an update 4.2.2 on the 17th when I click on the notification on the Ford pass app the “Update Details “ doesn’t work. Does any one else get this to work?
I also couldn't click the link, but found out that you can also check the drop down at the bottom of the home screen under vehicle alerts called update successful check out what's new.
Yeah that link stopped working a couple app releases ago it seems. It used to work. Others mentioned other ways to check it, I will include you can go to Owner.Ford.com and log in there, there is a Vehicle Updates section that you can click and see the most recent update.
In the truck itself you can also go to Automatic Updates and it will show details of the most recently applied update, even if you looked at it when you had the notification.
Bummer the link no longer works though, on my last two updates I got the notification like you showed above, but didn't get the banner on the main part of FordPass (where you can remote start the truck and all that) which would have also shown the details. It didn't show up there for a day or two. They definitely take two steps forward and one back with this app with most major releases.
Anyone on this thread have a gen 13 with Sync 3 that no longer works? It worked before but I suspect when Apple updated the features in CarPlay, they broke Sync. Per m VIN, i have the latest version of the Sync software so no update on the Ford side that I know of. Sync tries to go to CP because I see the CP features but nothing happens. It just sits there for about 20 seconds and then reverts to the standard Sync 3 interface. Though I don’t use CP much, this is ultra irritating since I don’t want to spend $75k to replace a perfectly good truck.
Not only does CarPlay no longer work, Sync no longer sees my iPhone when I go to the apps section to discover apps on my phone. It tells me to connect via a USB, which I am. I have tried numerous things, like deleting the phone, a master reset, turning off Bluetooth, a different phone and a different cable. Nothing works.
LennyFL: I was wondering the same.. I see some of the comments responding to you, but not sure what they are referring to. It is either not working or doesn't make sense to me... you open open the "Alert" in the Ford Pass app, it says click below "assume it means the big "Update details", and nothing happens.
I’m having the same issue. In fordpass, if I got to Account->Messages I see 5 entries for my OTA updates. The Update Details button for the 2 updates for 3.5.2 and 3.5.3 work fine. The Update Details button the each of the three 4.2.x updates do not. When I hover over the buttons, the underlying links are very different.
In this link for 3.5.3, notice it is prefaced by fordapp.
In the non-working 4.2.x link, it seems to be trying to reference a local file that I assume doesn’t exist:
This is probably another software mod that was injected into a recent fordpass app update, maybe the one that got rid of the "not plugged in" message…. Who knows…
