Default Underseat Storage

I have been building online a 2024 F150 Lariat SuperCrew - seems that is comes with an underseat storage box of some kind. Is this box removable? I like to flip up the rear seats and have a large flat floor space to store large items. Can't do that if the box is permanent (or the floor isn't very flat).

The online configurator doesn’t show any pictures, however if it’s the same underseat storage as 2021-2023, yes, it’s removable. Also, it is collapsible to be virtually flat (i.e. 1” or so) with the floor. You may not need to fully remove it.

I can only speak of 2023, the underfloor storage is the green part in the picture, if the truck come with pro power, this space would be occupied with inverters. then there is the red part which I believe is called fold flat storage.

FYI I like it - my NOCO battery jump starter, first aid kit, and some mountain bike gear fit perfectly in the area you circled in green, and then I keep a Dewalt inflator, bike helmet, and other stuff in the storage area. If I need maximum space I pull the stuff out and fold it down.

I did not care for the folding box. It is not very sturdy to start with and I often used the flat floor for loading things. Removing it is not simple. You are left with big studs sticking up. I folded it flat and left the Ford carpet mat in place then put a Husky mat over it all and the floor is almost the same as the non storage design.

You may have to select for the folding box, at least I had to with my '21 and thought I did with my '23 also, so just be wary of that, if you don't opt for the folding (if still needed) then it's a solid box.

I definitely don't agree with it not being sturdy, if you lock in the sides using the sliding locks (which I suspect some miss) its as sturdy as you could conceivably need it to be. You would have to really abuse it to make it collapse or break. As others noted I have found it great for storing straps/jump box/other small stuff that is used infrequently but nice to not have sliding around and I don't want in the bed boxes.
