Truck Broken Into and No Alarm-WTH?

My 2023 Lariat is showing the Advance Alarm Delete -$50.00. I went out and opened a window and then locked it up. I then reached thru the open window unlocked the back door and opened it. My horn did start honking and I received a message in my ford pass account also. At least it is some type of alarm system. Not the best but at least something. Not sure what the advanced security system is? It is ridiculous that we pay large amounts of money for these trucks and Ford can't even put a decent alarm system in them. Just my two cents worth.

alarm use unclear
I have a 2022 and read the owner's manual, did some web search and I am still unclear what kind of security my truck has , how to activate and deactivate and exactly what it monitors. Needs a more detailed how to guide for it, come on ford

I looked on my sticker this morning and it says I have the Perimeter Alarm. It didn't work apparently. I guess once my truck windows are installed, I need to take it to the dealer and have them inspect to see why the Perimeter Alarm did not function.

The alarm really isn't an "alarm" in the sense that you are thinking. It's more of, is the truck moving more than it should be alarm. Go lock your truck and shake the hell out of it. You might get it to go off. If you get in the bed of the truck and jump up and down it should go off. It will also go off, as the other user stated, if the windows are down, doors are locked and the door is opened from the inside.
This is why smash and grabs are so successful.

When Wife's Volvo was broken into I blamed her. She left a computer style bag in the passenger footwell easily visible. When the thieves saw no laptop, they dumped it and we were able to recover it.
I'm always far more neurotic about car theft, having grown up overseas where crime is worse than it is here.
If we are going anywhere, and I pick her up with bags, bags go into the non visible trunk or similar, where I pick her up. Then we drive off, park and leave it. Nobody watching us park it knows a thing. They just want a simple smash and grab.
