Default transmission temp

has anyone noticed the transmission temp on the digital display with analog rpm and speedo, not coming up to normal range sometimes? mine will sometimes barely move off the cold mark, thats after driving 25 mins on the highway. next time its fine?

Actually yes. Over the cold winter here I’ve noticed it a lot. I’ve setup Torque to monitor and can see the transmission doesn’t get to normal operating temps. The other day when it was -26c out after driving over an hour the temp for the transmission only got to 35c. My 2019 would always get to about 90c even in the winter.

You guys should grab ForSCAN and enable the transmission temp display. That way you have a real idea of what the transmission temp is. I have run into several cases where the gauge takes a bit to reflect the real temp.

Is that possible in a 2021 XLT 302A ? I thought was only for the powerboost or lariet and above?

I’m using the Torque Pro App instead of Forscan. The transmission never warms up when outside temp is very cold.

Yes it will work just fine on the XLT. I’ve been running both Forscan Lite and Torque Pro without any issues.

I may have misunderstood your question. I meant you can use Forscan and other apps to monitor your transmission temp, among others. If you’re asking if you can enable the temp in the dash screen then no, that is only for the higher end units.

That's my fault, you can only do transmission temp on the 12in display. My Bad.

The gauge is usually pretty accurate. The only time I have seen mine be really off compared to temperature is when first starting up the truck.

For example, the other day I came off the interstate /w the trans temp at 205 degrees. Got gas started the truck back up gauge was way low and the trans temp said 195. It fixed itself pretty quick, maybe after 2 minutes or so.
