Default Tranmission temp

Wondering if anyone has any insight or similar experiences. When its cold outside especially at or below freezing my trans temp gauge will not move off the c. I've had the truck about a year its a 2023 with 23k on it. It's did this last year when it was super cold and it had been in the dealer once and had to trans reprogrammed due to some rough shifts here and there. I did mention in the drop off slip about the trans temp but it either wasn't looked at or wasn't a concern. It will move to operating temp just fine when its warm. I thought about waiting until my next oil change in a month or 2 but I'm wondering if I should make it a immediate priority. I live on IL and the colds here to stay. It's still under warranty for a bit and it's not throwing any faults or codes so I'm not sure what they'd even do about it. Im concerned it's going to sit for 2 weeks before they begin to do anything. It shifts about the same as when warm. My digital odometer is about 2mph off my analog one so I thought it may be a cluster or electric issue. But I really don't know. Any thoughts would be great thanks.

You might try an OBD reader to get actual temp readings. Our 2021 doesn’t show numbers just the sweep of the gauge so I use an MX+ reader to get numbers on my phone. Seeing the actual numbers might give you more insight. We get some pretty cold temps as well and ours takes longer to warm but does still reach near summer temperatures after it’s been driven on the hwy a while. -19C / -2F this morning

Great suggestion any ideas on cheaper on brands? I've got access to a basic code reader but I know the ones with actual display options outside of that get super pricey.

I have a 2023 and live in a cold climate. On cold days my drive to work which is just under 20 minutes my gauge also doesn't move.

This picture was taken after my 3.2 mile morning commute that lasts about 10 minutes.

Not sure what you consider "cheaper" or "super pricey" but the OBDLink MX+ and included OBDLink app will do it with the no-extra-cost Ford Extension for the app.

Amazon.com: OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner for iPhone, Android, and Windows : Automotive Amazon.com: OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner for iPhone, Android, and Windows : Automotive

Look at the Amazon price history and you'll see it occasionally goes for around $110, just gotta watch for a sale / discount offer.

Another option for some trims / displays is to use FORScan to enable digital coolant and tranny fluid temp on your IPC
