Default Trailer brake issues?

Hey Guys, 2021 F150 PB. I set my brake controller up yesterday at 6.0 gain and it slowed my boat/trailer down nicely. Today I was coming back from the lake and it didn’t feel like the trailer brakes were doing much so I tested on a flat road and even at a gain of 10 there was nothing. Any ideas on what I should look for, adjust?

What kind of brakes does your boat trailer have? Electric/Hydraulic? Most (boat trailers) are straight up hydraulic surge, which would have nothing to do with the brake controller.

Okay I figured it out. I bled the trailer brakes and a few air bubbles came out. They work fine now.
