If you buy the new sensors and have them installed on trailer tires, can a 2023 vintage system deal with the trailer too?

Early October 2021 I purchased my aftermarket sensors. I cloned them to the factory sensors and have had zero issues. Two winters running them so far. Zero input has been needed to be done to the truck. I just simply swap the tires and drive.
I have done the same thing on my two other vehicles.

Well I had new Napa sensors installed and after two days I got the TPMS Error and no reading on the dash. I tried using the small tpms tool that you press a button next to the wheel while in learn mode and that did not work either. Next I will try the relearn by putting the truck in train mode and let air out of the tires to see if that works.

Well letting air out while in training mode didn’t work either. Guess the next step is head to the tire shop.

Update: When I went to move the truck this morning all sensors are reading even though the relearn did not work. I think after putting the truck in re learn mode and then driving after the fact it picked up that there were new tpms sensors and all is good. Hopefully the error doesn’t come back, time will tell.
