Towing mirrors
I will be looking for some after market towing mirrors for my 2021 F-150. I bought a set for my 2014 that were very easy to install. I pulled the door panel off and unplugged the harness, I think it was 3 or 4 screws holding the mirror on. I did both sides in 45 minutes to an hour. Just wondering if any of you have changed yours and what brand you used and also price. Thanks, boomer
Boomer,
I will be using Ford's electronic BLIS folding extending mirrors. However having an XLT I will have to purchase new wiring harness switches bezel and possibly a jumper. The mirrors were ordered when I bought the truck although the wrong ones for my XLT. I am still trying to figure out if I need a jumper cable to allow for the extension and folding if the passenger mirror.

Thanks for the reply Dp3dp. I have not had time to put a lot of effort in this. I haven't had to good of luck looking at aftermarket ones online. I don't need any options, just power mirrors. No marker, turn signal or puddle lights. Let me know how you make out with yours. I'll be going to the dealer next week and I'll ask the parts guy some questions. Thanks again, boomer

To help you Boomer, it sounds like you need some "basic" tow mirrors like most aftermarket options for the 2020 and down. I am right in line with you, but sadly last I checked the aftermarket has not caught up with the 2021 models yet. There was a thread a month or so ago where someone said that one of the big online truck accessory companies was in development of some and said around Nov-Dec. Hopefully I am wrong and someone responds with a link to some, but ATM I dont believe there is any affordable options.
They are suppose to be in next week, but we’ll see when they actually ship. Seems like they doubled (now $110) in price for the 2021 models, but still way better than $1600 for the Ford upgrade.
I stopped by my dealer the other day to see what was available. The parts guy was really good and did a lot of research while I went and talked to the service rep. He said around $700.00 and a week to ten days out. I also talked to the fleet manager because there is a truck coming in January that is exactly like mine - STX, 2WD, 2.7, Super Crew, 36 gallon tank. The new one is a '22 instead of a '21. and has the tow package and 3.5. After I bought this truck, we changed some direction and ended up buying a travel trailer. I towed it back from Wisconsin to Florida and it did ok with the 2.7 but that was just myself and nothing in it. We plan on doing a lot of traveling with the trailer and I wonder if the '22 will be a better fit. We will take the trailer and truck on it's maiden voyage right after New Years for a couple thousand mile trip and I'll decide what to do then. Either way I'll need the mirrors. I don't understand how Ford can sell the tow package and you still have to get bigger mirrors. Thanks for all of your replies, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families, boomer.

Just used some black tape to tape down the excess rubber strap end on each mirror to stop the flapping in the wind.
