Thoughts on Ceramic Coating and PPF, any experience?
OK I pick up my truck this week, but before I log any long Miles I got a laundry list of preventative maintenance I am getting done.
First is I'm getting the front wrapped with a PPF to protect from road debris, a lot of gravel and salt is used on the roads here which is notorious for causing chips on your bonnet.
We don't have a lot of shops here that do ceramic coating, but I ended up finding one that is highly recommended. And I plan on getting this done after my PPF is done.
He gave me three options, a generic no name brand which is about $850 to get done (Canadian ruples) with 1 year warranty
A Quartz ceramic coat (2 applications) that is about $1400 with 2 year warranty.
Lastly is a Kenzo Ceramic coat, about $1800 with 4 year warranty.
Not sure if they are good or bad prices.
Any opinions I would love to hear.

Line-X does my PPF, tint, spary-in bedliner, undercoating, and sealant/ceramic.
I have had PPF done on my last three F150s and wife's last two Escapes. We did 18" up the hood/fenders and all painted surfaces on the front. Love the PPF which has protected the vehicles on trips to FL and MN.
I did get my wife's Escape Quartz ceramic protected for $1,000 (truck would be $1,200) since we bought it out of the lease. It is good for up to 5 years depending on how often we wash. We should get 5 since it is garaged and she only drives 5K miles a year. Since I only lease my trucks for 3 years, I get the paint clay bar'd, waxed & buffed, and sealant applied which is good for a 1 - 2 years depending on how often we wash.
If you are going to keep the truck longer than 4 years then ceramic is the way to go if you wash and keep it cleaned.

Here in South Carolina, I have my Jeep ceramic coated. I have my installer use Adams Graphene Ceramic which is an 8 year coating. I paid $700 for the initial coating and pay $100 annually for a booster with free washes throughout the year.
My F150 has been completely bedlined...so no need to coat the beast any more.

My 2020 F150 was a build sheet order and meant to last a long time. So when it arrived I took it in for ceramic coating 3 days later.
Line-X spray in bed liner the next week for $500 USD
"On the Spot" detailing, here in Maryland applied two (2) coats of Opti-Coat Pro ceramic coating on all paint and chrome.
Price was $900 USD in September 2020. Warranty is five (5) years.
My truck still shines as well as in picture and looks factory new.
Ceramic coatings only protect the clear coat. I do have a few stone chips in the front edge of the hood.
Good luck, Paul
