Anyone can download the Westin HDX or Steelcraft instructions and see there are upper bumper frame mounting brackets that attach behind the bumper. Not perfect, but will take just about any animal hit and you’ll still be able to drive.

4 point mounting with proper headlight protection.

A previous truck. Note no skinny lower steel, and almost 2” thick upper bars. Totally different ballgame.

What is the average weight of these complete guard sets?

Approximate:

Ranch hand around 78lbs
Steelcraft around 90lbs
Westin HDX around 105lbs

I have a 4 point mount Steelcraft for my 2024 Platinum, (Westin blocks the radar for adaptive cruise system) but due to someone not reading an email completely…..I’m holding off installing it until they can tell me it fits.

Yes, the one in the picture is a Weston HDX, (front camera / bolt together model) which has four attachment points. It requires removing the bumper and bolting up some sub assemblies.

That truck is still owned by my company, but it’s not the one I use anymore. The only thing I wish I had done differently was I would get the fully welded one going forward not the one that bolts together.

Due to some confusion, I won’t be attempting to install the one on my 2024, as Steelcraft now says it won’t fit. I’m waiting for an update on what will.

Actually, the steel craft will bolt up, but only the lower two points of attachment, which to me is virtually pointless.

Thanks--not so bad for the front end.

Just took a look for the westin
https://www.westinautomotive.com/hdx...021/ford/f-150
  • Black
  • Requires Minor Trimming Of Tow Hook Pockets
  • Will Interfere With Adaptive Cruise (Speed) Control If Equipped
  • Factory Tow Hooks Cannot Be Reused
  • Will Interfere With Sensors
  • With Front Camera
  • Not Compatible With Optional 6” & 10" HDX Flush Mount B-Force LED Mount Kit Part # 57-0025 & 57-0035
Are there any that don't interfere with sensors or adaptive?

That's exactly why I am going for Ranch Hand - they claim no interference with sensors or cameras

Steelcraft.

Ranch Gand won’t interfere with sensors or a deer smashing your truck either. Package deal lol.

Westin is the toughest looking of the bunch, and has rubber covers on the uprights, which is nice… but could interfere with cruise control sensors. I suspect they all interfere with from parking sensors, regardless of claims, but that’s a guess.
