So it's fine other than having to remove the tie down? No rubbing or anything? That's good to know. That must have been what I saw was referring to.

Have you installed it yet? I see your signature says your truck is on order. The reason I ask is that one of the reviews says it doesn't work on a 2021.

If it is and does fit a 21, you can buy a little cheaper on ebay. FYI

No...I put it on my '20 XLT. I'm pretty sure the Lariats have them from the factory, and that is what I have on order. I was thinking I had saw somewhere where someone had put one on a '21 model and it fit. I could be mistaken on that though.
There are parts / accessories that will interchange from gen 13 to gen 14...but I do not know first hand if this part will.

I would not remove that tie down to install the 3rd party device. Spend the money and install the Ford part, IMO. Do it right!

Default Dee Zee tail gate assist.



Here is a pic of the Dee Zee install. This tie down is in the way and must be removed. The cable hits it when closing. When this is removed, it works great.

yes you do.
I put one on my 2016, thought only seems effective about 3/4 of the way down. Till then, it feels like it is not doing much at all.
