So I think I may have found the issue with the traffic on my system. I was reading and it said it uses the Ford Pass app.
I connected my phone and then I checked Mobile Apps and found that was turned off so I turned that on and updated the apps. Then opened the Ford Pass App inside the Mobile Apps on the Sync 4 and gave it the requested permissions and now Traffic is working on mine. It does not show up Green only shows up Yellow and Red.
I did the steps you mentioned, but I still haven't seen an traffic data. I live in a rural area so I mot surprised by my roads, but if I zoom into a city or a major interstate I still don't see any data. Do you need to have an active navigation route going for the data to show? I have a 501A with built in connected nav.

Not that I know of. Mine has worked either way. I also think it only works off of where you car is located. It wont show traffic in another location if you zoom in on that location. The traffic that does show up on mine only shows up when I get close to it.
I wish there was a way to report problems that you have. I have never had traffic on my maps. There are issues in the maps around me where the truck will slam on breaks for a school zone in the evening and on the interstate there is about 1/4 mile where the truck thinks that speed limit drops.
2) Sync4 periodically gets confused when wirelessly connected to Android Auto, loses connection, will not reconnect until vehicle is restarted. Workaround is to connect with a USB cable.
I have an iPhone 6S and at least a couple of times a week Sync4 just disconnects from my phone during the middle of a conversation. The phone conversation is still going on and I have to take one of my hands off of the wheel, and select the speaker phone option on my phone. Very annoying for a $50,000+ vehicle.

I bet they don't test older out-of-support devices. It may be a bug with the older Bluetooth version on the 6S. I haven't experienced any Bluetooth issues on the 3 year old iPhone XR or the new iPhone 13.
I set my nav maps to the 3D view, however, after any restart it reverts to 2D. Leaving the nav and then returning reverts it back to 3D. Also how do I know if traffic is working? I have it turned on.
not sure if this is a bug or not. Coming from 2 sync 3.4 F150's
I like to keep my center stack on Fuel economy. Not running android auto. When I hang up using the buttons on the steering wheel the center stack goes to phone. I have to hit the back button and them goto my view and click Fuel Eco again.
If I hit the end call button on the sync screen it will go to the phone menu. I like to keep nav and audio as my constants to display.
Annoying to me!!
Wish they would split the right side(smaller box) into 2 like Sync 3. and have the choices what can go into each box...
1) If you add extra pages of preset stations beyond the default 2 pages, Sync4 will forget the pages you added upon restart.
The presets are linked to your personal profile. If you update your settings to the # of presets you want, save the stations you want (XM or FM) and then go to personal profiles. Switch your profile to guest temporarily and then switch back to your personal profile. Your additional presets will show up. It worked for me.
I found a solution from the Mach-e forums that worked on my truck.
Sync 4 becomes more likely to remember settings after driving with and setting up profiles for both key fobs. If you have always driven with the same Key Fob and Sync 4 won’t save your settings it could be a contributing factor and is known to be one of many problems with the system.

When I was having the screen & gauge screen go completely black while driving & reset. I noticed that it was when my wife was calling me. She had put a heart emojii after her name. I noticed the issue would only happen not connected to Car Play & when she would call (jokes aside lol). I removed the emojii from the contact, then completely reset my sync system. I paired my phone again & downloaded the contacts & I haven't had the issue since.
My weird quirk about the truck & not sure if it Sync related, the entry chimes cycle between going through the speakers or out a crap speak in the instrument cluster that sounds like my 2011. Drives me insane because all the sensor noises (back up, front parking) all sound like complete crap. I have noticed that it just cycles back & fourth at random.
I try getting in the truck & letting the whole intro visual play through on the dash screen & nav screen then fully depress the brake & hold the start button through the start up, that seems to work 90% of the time but if I try to use remote start the crappy noise is back.
Ford can't replicate the problem even though it was doing it when I dropped it off & picked it up. Thought about changing out the battery to see if that helps.
