Steering wheel hand sensor issue - maybe?
Hi all:
I am new to this forum. I have a 2025 F150 KR I bought a couple weeks ago. Love it! It’s not my first KR but it is the newest I’ve had. I may not ask this question correctly so apologies in advance. I’ve noticed that when using cruise control it doesn’t recognize I am holding the steering wheel frequently. I hold it lightly, often with one hand but I get error frequently to grip the wheel. If I take my hand and move it around the wheel it will pick up that I’m holding it for a bit. I discovered I can hold with one hand and when I get the warning message if I squeeze it hard it registers I’m holding it. This can be fatiguing. Is this normal or should I have it looked at?
thanks.

I had the same issue- it doesn't recognize the grip, it recognizes the wheel turning. It's annoying that you have to turn the wheel when going straight, but you have to turn it a micron of a degree to be recognized. If you just bump the wheel or pull it clockwise or counterclockwise, the warning will be satisfied.
thanks guys. Went out for a little drive & worked fine with the little nudge! Appreciate it…….
Just for giggles, I live in a very rural area, with long stretches of 2-lane 55/65 mph speed limit roads. I have a ankle weight that I will sometimes lay over the right steering wheel spoke so I don't have to keep nudging the wheel... Yes, my hand is right under it, and yes, I know I shouldn't do that, but I don't see it any different than having blue cruise on. Works great, as it keeps some rotational pressure on the wheel, enough to satisfy the sensor.
