My sound settings (bass, treble, etc.) along with the sound position (driver vs all seats) keep resetting. It does this every time I get an over the air update and sometimes when I don't, just randomly resets. I can tell obviously because I adjust them to specific settings I like. This is annoying to say the least. Does anyone else have this issue and is there something I can do about it?

 

Not sure of your trim level but have you setup personal profiles and linked them to your FOBS? You can customize sound settings by user. If you alternate FOBs this can appear as reset.

Also no sure of year model... I had this problem when I was on back level software... 2021 F150 Plat

 

My truck is an 2021 XLT with the large screen. How do you set up personal profile settings? Sorry for the ignorance but what does FOBS stand for? Thanks.

 

By FOB I meant key FOB (door lock/unlocker).

Thanks Jim that link is very helpful. My issue now is I have an XLT with no memory seats so I don't have the profile icon in my settings menu as in the video. Any idea if that's buried in another screen somewhere or am I just SOL?

 

It appears profiles don't work on a XLT. Hopefully someone with an XLT can chime in here with insight as how to work around...

Every time I get one of the over the air updates it seems to wipe out the sound settings and all the radio presets as well as a bunch of other configurations. I expect it may be this?

 

I also have an XLT 302A (no memory seats, etc.). I am currently on 6.4.0 and do allot of hacking requiring resetting various modules. I have noticed some do reset user settings for audio. When you say "every time" may I respectively ask do you mean with each update? What update has been implemented? I will watch mine to see if going from 6.4.0 on changes any of my user settings but I can envision i.e. updates to APIM may also cause a resetting of user settings.

 

My sound settings reset every time I get an over the air update and I'm ok with that but recently I've been getting sound setting resets without updates. It's not that big of deal but it's just annoying having to go back in and put my settings back in.
