Default Shifter WILL not Fold Flat

I have a new 2025 Platinum, and recently the shifter will not fold down to use the office table. I tried making an appointment with the local dealer for service, but when I arrived at the schedule time they were to backed up to take my truck.
Has anyone had this problem with the shifter?

I'm of no help but will say that I think the folding shifter is a dumb idea. My truck doesn't have the workspace and it still has the folding shifter. They are problem prone.

Yes. National TSB out on it. Part is on back order. Don't lower it. It might even fail completely and not go into D/R.

Just had mine replaced on a 2024. Sadly, if you research this it is happening on a bunch of trucks. The GSM needs replaced, and it will occasionally be backordered for some time. Mine started out with a wrench light coming on randomly for 2-3 months stating, "Drivetrain malfunction" Initially one dealer couldn't figure it out. Once it got to the point of not folding down, another dealer was able to admit it was the GSM. One post I saw stated that Ford is just replacing with the same part, which I hope is not true as there are a large number of failures once you start researching it.

Pardon my stupidity, but what is the GSM. I have a new Platinum with the work space, and my shifter does go down. I have only done it once, as I am afraid that it will not work and be stuck in the desert somewhere.

I apologize; it stands for Gear Shift Module.

These shifters seem to have a very notchy movement. I haven't folded it down completely in forever.

They feel better on the 25’s, but I still don’t like them. Give me the dial and be done with them.
