sensors in the cold
Have a 2021 platinum powerboost hybrid Fx4. I live in Texas. Past 2 days we had a significant amount of sleet and then a dusting of snow that covered everything in ice. my truck is parked out side but right now has no ice on the sides or sensors on the bumper. Getting a lot of sensor warnings of proximity to the side warnings like im going to hit something in a wide open street or parking lot. also warnings from the front bumper. this morning the sensors freaked out enough that the dash went dark while a sensor warning was active and then popped back up with it gone. Temp is in the 20s F right now. Drove it a month ago in deep snow in new mexico and didn't have any of these issues. Anyone have similar problems in the cold and if it went away when things warmed up? also set my mirrors to always out as was worried they would freeze in the in position. similar concern with the automatic side step. tailgait is frozen shut and wont come down probably unless I melt it with some water on the top of it.
It probably has more to do with the ice and dirt grime build up on the sensors. I live in northern PA and this has happened to all of my vehicles. Usually a trip through the car was on a semi warm day takes care of the issue
I thought that was the case too, but I had just washed it before the ice came so its actually pretty clean once the ice came off with warming the truck up. will just have to see once it warms up the next couple days
