Default Seat back latch

I have a 2022 platinum. The passenger rear seat locks in the upright position. The drivers side rear will not. How do I position the moving latch so it locks. See attached.

Just flipped mine down...I would say it is 9/10 of the way to the top. In other words...move pin to the top....then down about 1/4-1/2 inch down.

Yep, it's about 75% of the way up on mine.

To be clear, you are not discussing the (unnecessarily) difficult-to-access driver-side rear seat BACK release (shown in your second pic), but are asking how to get the driver-side seat bottom to latch in the upright position, correct?

I had noticed the same thing. On my 2011 XLT SCREW, either side seat bottoms latched in the upright position when lifted, and had to be manually released. On my 2022 Lariat SCREW, it appears just the passenger-side seat bottom latches in the upright.

Problem solved guys. It has to be all the way down on the 2022 for it to latch upright. What a pain in the ***.

Well upon further review...it depends on how far up or down the bottom seat cushion is tilted. So to latch it...I start somewhere half way upish ...and manuever the bottom untill I feel it latch. Its a lil trial and error...but after you do it a few times...it gets easier

Somebody on here had an aftermarket latch release that was much easier to use. Anyone know what that was, and where to get it? Mine was pretty easy to close, but what a bitch to release!

There's a printable one on Thingiverse as well as the one linked previously. I recommend printing in polycarbonate or ASA.
