Default Remote Start

I have a 2021 F150 that does not have Remote Start installed. I had a 2017 F150 that I installed an aftermarket remote start on. Can I use the aftermarket unit on my 2021? The pertinent models on the remote start indicated use on models thru 2020, but I'm not sure if that is updated info.
Thanks for any info!!

Can you start it from the Ford Pass App? What trim did you get?

I think all 2021's can be remote started with the app-- but if you do not have cell phone reception where you are then the app will not work-- unless it can connect over wifi

So, maybe the question should have been "Does installing an aftermarket remote start affect the FordPass app remote start capability?" In addition to knowing folks living in poor coverage zones (i.e; rural and northern MN, in my case), I know a lot of Seniors living in the metro area who still use a flip phone and don't want to get dragged into the new tech world or don't want to pay for smart phone data.

I was trying to save the person some money, if they can use the remote start from the app, why spend $$$ on adding an aftermarket system? It’s a little slower to start it from the app (30 sec) but so far I have had zero issues doing so. Even being in areas with little service. If your are out in the woods with Zero service maybe. But for me that doesn’t happen.

Also, I have found several ford owners that don’t even know about the app and what you can do from it.

I have an XL, you can remote start through the Ford App. There is a Ford accessory remote fob available to gives you remote start without using the app. I personally HATE using the Ford app for that feature since it KILLS my Android Auto till I restart with a key.
