Default Recalls

So I have 2 current recalls, 1 is the tailgate opening itself and the other is the trailer brakes, I called my local dealership to bring it in and was told not to bring it in because the update that they are installing if messing up trucks so if I bring mine in then it would be undrivable until the correct update is available. Have been put on A list for them to call when it is safe to bring in.

FWIW I performed the trailer update using FDRS and my truck has been running normal. ‘21 Lariat PB

It would be great to know what the dealer is talking about considering many people have gotten the TRM software without an issue. The tailgate is only if it opens on its own, not sure if that was a software update or not. It sounds more like your dealer just have you a BS excuse to avoid doing work on your truck for some reason.

Yeah no clue what the dealer is talking about. Ford is still OTA updating for the TBC issue and I don't see any OASIS broadcast messages to not do the update. I also had mine done and didn't have any issues.

That said, if you aren't towing a heavy trailer that is going to use the TBC anytime soon, no rush to do it. It will be delivered by an OTA update without you having to go to a dealer anyway.
