Default Recall 22c22

Just received my 2nd letter on this. This time they have the repair available. They need to reprogram the HCM or the BCM. So I made the appointment and the service advisor noted that it may take 3 hours.. what! Has anyone heard of such a over engineered procedure? I do not have any flickering of the parking lamps.
Thanks for your inputs on this.

yep it sure can take up to 3 hours, depending on the ID number on your headlights either 1 or both of them will have to be unplugged during the reprogramming(which has to be done twice)

Mine has been scheduled for next Monday. They will be doing both the flickering light issue and wiper motor.....also, Ford wants to keep my truck for 2-3 days which is kinda ridiculous.

I sure hope those HCM updates don’t impact any of the Forscan changes we have done, like glare free headlights and the DRL brightness.

Mine currently has no Forscan mods so I will not be able to tell. I was kinda waiting until this is done to do some mods.

It shouldn’t impact them, but there is always a chance. I’m fully backed up so I will be fine, I just would hate to deal with a glitch in the matrix if it was to happen.

My DRL’s never have flickered, even with the full brightness mod so I’m going to try to opt out of it if I can.
