Default Rear Passenger Window Problem

I have a 2021 F150 Lariat Supercrew. Last week I hit the switch on the drivers door to roll down the right rear passenger window. When I looked over my shoulder the window was coming down at a faster rate than normal and when I hit the switch again the window wouldn't go back up. Took it to the dealer I bought it from and they diagnosed the problem as a bad window regulator. It took them a week to get a new regulator in and when they tried to install it today they said the new one was faulty as well. The dealer is gonna get another one overnight and try to install it tomorrow. I talked to another ford dealership and they felt like it was probably a bad window switch because they had repaired 4 other trucks in the past few months with the same issue I'm having.

Has anyone else had or heard about this window issue?

Mine did the same thing over 2 months ago and I’m still waiting on a fix! Driving a $73,000 2021 Raptor with tape and plastic in the window for 2+ months now. I’d love someone @Ford to see this and expedite a solution. My dealer told me they were scheduling repairs 6 weeks out but I persisted and they at least looked at it enough to get the window back up. They disconnected the window from the regulator and ordered a window motor. They taped the window up so I could at least keep most of the rain out. After a month the motor came in and of course that wasn’t it. They said it’s the master switch and would be available next day. A day goes by with no call so I called and they said that part is discontinued and the new part is on national back order.

Ford is still building new trucks so it would be nice if they’d pull a switch off the assembly line and send it over to my dealer. I’m sure the trim will need to be replaced after 2+ months in the sun with packing tape on it.

I have a 2021 xlt and have the exact same issue. Dealer installed a new window regulator on the right rear window. Did not fix problem so they ordered a new main window switch. Scheduled to be installed after Labor Day. Yep my back right window went down very fast and would not come back up.

This just happened to me on my 2023 XLT...same window...passenger side rear. Is it really a bad window regulator or is it something else?

Thanks for the information. I had ordered a window switch assembly off the internet and it came today. It took me 18 minutes to install. Most difficult part was being careful to pry up the trim plate the switch is mounted on. All the windows worked fine and the Rear Passenger Window stays up with the switch plugged in. Thanks again to all for the information and help.

It's the switch. Almost always the switch. If you open up the panel, you can short a couple pins on the connector with a paperclip and get the window to roll back up. Just don't plug in the switch until you have a replacement.

That said the short seems to send constant current through the window regulator motor even after it stops. So it may burn out the regulator eventually if you don't unplug the switch.
