Default Range change after 2.7.1 update

Wonder if anyone else experienced this. With full tank (36gal) my range said 712 miles. Software updated overnight and range went to 479 miles. Truck was not moved nor gas was siphoned. Still pegged fuel gage.
this truck has always gotten 20-22 mpg with the lowest @ 19.2.
It’s a 2021 3.5 Eco Screw, 4x4, Lariat. have 12,000 miles.

Sounds like the update changes the calculation method so it reset all of the learned data. Likely needs to drive to rebuild it.

When I got 2.7.1, I noticed that my range went up, too.

Yeah, drive it and see what happens.
That's faster than sitting around here all day waiting on others.

Or maybe the obvious answer is that you saw it first thing on your way to work and now that it has been driven, it is out of wack still.

I'll bet a dollar it's going to self correct. Thankfully for me gambling isn't permitted on the site so I'm not likely to lose a dollar.

Drive it and watch the DTE go *up* as your fuel gauge goes *down*. It will correct, no different than if you burn a tank while hauling a trailer, then fill up and go back to no trailer driving.

DTE is useless anyway, has no actual impact on how far the truck will go, not even worth the time spent thinking about it.

Wait, WHAT?!? How will I know when to get gas then? I usually wait until 5-10 miles left to empty.

I think you'll eventually figure it out.

If you don't go to 0 then you aren't using all available fuel and just leaving money on the table.

great way to burn up your fuel pump.

I tend to stick with D2E of 100 miles strangely except on my long distance drives when I usually run around 500 miles simply because I keep an eye on prices via GasBuddy
