I have a 21 xlt. It randomly has the speed limit show on the dash. Not always there just sometimes. I thought it maybe picked it up with a camera like my wife’s rav4 but it’s too sporadic to be that. So why is it only there part of the time

 

probably based on memory of navigation system. if the system doesn't have the speed limit stored it wont show the number.

 

I'm with Brian in that my 2021 SCREW seems to use the speed limit based on the navigation system. Some roads don't show a speed limit and some do.

The biggest issue to me comes with roads where the speed limit has changed. Portions of the Garden State Parkway where toll booths were removed still show the lower speed limits that were in place previously. Not a problem for standard or adaptive cruise control. but a real issue with intelligent cruise. Driving along at a 5 over the posted speed limit and nose dive.... the truck wants to be at 25 or 35 for the former toll booth. Simple solution... I don't use intelligent cruise on toll roads.

Also, so much for connected nav with updates. The toll booths were removed 3-4 years ago but the map is not up to date yet. I realize Ford does not control that.

 

With my 2022 the truck cameras read the road signs so no signs no change in speed limit on dashy.
