Default Question regarding AC for powerboost

Does the air conditioning run off electric power or the gas engine?

So you’re saying I can sit in the parked truck with AC running at 100% and not use gas?

Do you know how long before it would deplete the charge?

Well, it's really neither it seems. The AC runs off the battery using its own motor/compressor.

The graphic on Ford's site outlines it.

Yes, AC works when parked and in electric only mode. How long you get before it kicks on the gas engine to recharge the battery depends on the state of charge of the battery.

On an average 70-80 degree, sun is out in full day, I would say I get 5-10 minutes between engine cycling. The engine runs for 2-3 minutes, then you get another 5-10 or so on battery.

This closely resembles my experience sitting on a construction site quite a bit.

In an alternate universe, would have had to spin the engine with the electric motor to run a belt driven compressor, or have a clutch between the electric motor and the engine, and a PTO for the compressor.
