Default Question re: 22B08 CSP

2021 F150 SCREW 5.0 302A
I am not sure what the dealership is telling me about their effort to apply CSP 22B08 Electronic Control Module Recovery that was not successful. Looks to me like they were not able to make the update via typical means and will be making another attempt via USB once they have adapters in hand.

Can anyone shed any light on this to help me understand what's next?
Thanks.

TSB 22-2150 is the next step that the dealer needs to take if an update is unsuccessful. I think what the Tech is saying is that they don't have the cabling to complete that TSB. Until 22-2150 is completed, they cannot perform the updates they originally tried to install.

This needs to be completed by October 2022.

Thanks. Makes sense now that I've read the pdf you attached.

Now I guess I have to hope they get the cables and can do the work by October or look for another dealership that can.

The dealership finally got the adapters and cables called for as an alternate method to perform this reprogramming. They had the truck all day with no success. They said they would reschedule some time in the future and will be talking with Ford engineering in the meanwhile. They did wipe out all my saved GPS locations and radio stations. I'm not happy they didn't tell me about that.

What are the implications of not having this CSP 22B08 done at all? Apparently I haven't had any OTA updates since buying the truck over a year ago so do I really care? Just trying to sort this out.

PS: They also have nothing for the tailgate CSP and no parts for the wiper blade recall. I had an out-of-state relative buy rivets for the insulation recall as the local dealerships said they could not get them. The next closest dealership is over an hour away and $20 in tolls.

Ford needs to come out and extend the October deadline. Dealers are having a tough time making so many updates “stick”

Yes, what happens if they don’t extend the deadline? One would think Ford wouldn’t tell us we have to pay for it, I hope? I had my truck in for some warranty work a while back, and they were supposed to do this CSP as well, but didn’t. I figured since I had to bring it back for the wiper recall anyway (still waiting on parts for that one), rather than raise a fuss and not be able to pick up the truck at that point, I’d just have them do it with the next visit with the wipers. I didn’t realize Ford set a time limit!
