Default Question about reverse guidance sensor

So my '22 did not come with this. But I have max tow, co-pilot assist thing, pro trailer backup assist thing, 360 cameras, blis, on board scales, all that jazz. I even have the connector for it. Best I can tell is it is part of the tech tow package, which I don't think I have, but I think its because when you "build" your truck, one of the other options removes it.

It seems like I should have it, or I should be able to use it if I did. But I don't know. I have done the sticker thing before, but I think I would like this better. Can it be added? Should I have it? I tried to build another truck like mine, and the only thing I got out of it was if I chose 302a high, I can't add tow tech unless i switch to 302 mid. Or if i add max tow, then try to add tow tech it removes max tow. Stuff like that.

In the end, it probably doesn't change much for me, but I would like the knowledge.

If your truck has the "pro trailer backup assist thing", that's the function that works with the stickers to allows you to backup a trailer with the **** in the truck.

What do you mean by "reverse guidance sensor"?

There is a new thing where you mount it on the trailer frame. It auto detects the length of trailer etc.

It plugs in just below the 7-way. But you have to have things like co pilot to make it work

Ah.

Based on posts I've seen on the forum, that was shipped with some 2021s, then the sticker took its place again.

My guess is that because of the chip shortage, Ford gave up production of the electronics for the trailer sensor and diverted that chip fab capacity to other more critical electronics for its vehicles. Just a guess, though. Hopefully, when capacity opens up again, those sensors will become available for purchase from dealers.
