Price seems close to similar at other dealers. Me I would never buy a 5.5' short box, or a Black on Black truck, Or black anything. I have not seen the new fangled transformer tailgate so I could not comment. My truck has the pull out step gate. Red with black Both have the locking rear diff, which I would want. So the retail on both is close. the Black one is Powerboost, Power boost looses some load capacity due to hundreds of pounds of weight increase, but has more power and higher towing rating which might be important since you can't even get an adult bicycle in a short box.

The 6.5 beds are out there but relatively rare compared to the 5.5.

Took me quite a while to find the truck I have now.

There are pros and cons to the short box vs the long box. I’ve owned both

My vote is for a long bed.... but to each there own. I feel 6.5 bed is WAY more useful, and truck looks more like a truck should compared to the 5.5bed. Turning radius sucks though with the 6.5bed.

Short box is a city thing with people who park their grocery getters in a small garage attached to their house. Try shopping in a farming community were people who use a truck for work and you will find a larger selection of 6.5' boxes. If you drop to a super cab rather than a crew cab you can go up to an 8' box.

Ford AZ Plan price, which is what employees and retirees pay, on that truck is $65,892 (including delivery but before sales tax and registration). MSRP is $72,510. It's a 2024, so they are discounting it more to get it off the lot. Does their "almost 64" include the $1,995 destination charges? What other costs are they adding after that besides sales tax? Don't fall for outrageous document fees, add-ons, or dealer prep.

If you don't plan on putting anything in the back, buy a 5.5' short box. If you plan on using your truck to haul things, buy a 6.5' box. If you're buying a 5.5' bed because your garage is short, it's time to move. LOL!

Black on black is just fine. My '21 Job 1 Platinum looks damn near brand new. Had it detailed a couple months back -- everybody started asking me when I got a new truck! Locking rear differential is only needed if you plan on being off-road a lot. It's useless on pavement and does nothing for you relative to towing or hauling. Not a Powerboost fan myself - 5.0 or nothing. But that's just me.

Yes, pros to the long bed and cons to the short bed.

If you don’t need the 7.2kw inverter, don’t get it-dealers can’t figure out how to fix them.

Bed length: I nixed long bed but now after 40k, want one so I can camp in the bed a few times a year. I’ve filled the bed plenty of times so a cap would work for me.

Color: personal choice isn’t black. But it looks great in photos.

Multi function tailgate- Not a fan. Do they cause structural problems? Latching problems? You’re used to single piece unit, stay with single piece. Simple-reliable-proven.
