To be fair, F150 owners bitch about every darn.....even questionably unrealistic stuff. Considering how many F150s are out there (there are 5 on my street lol) it's not terrible.

Was considering the 5.0 for reliability - but I'm reading a lot about oil burning issues.
Ended up considering the 3.5EB (I had one years prior), but now there are water pump concerns?
Would order the Max Tow package, but it seems there is a lot of sheared bolts on the new axle.

Is buying a F150 a smart move nowadays? I've never considered a GM product, I've always bought Ford for trucks, but gosh .... seems like a big mess now.

Overblown? For what these things cost nowadays I'd be livid to have some of these problems.

Did Ford finally address the vaccum IWE grinding problems they had in years past? I had that one at 3k miles ....
I traded an '18 GMC SLT in on a 502A. The ford tech is way better - the radio, the eco boost, the power tilt.. the aluminum body. I think the bolsters in the '18 gmc seats were better and that truck was way heavier for towing. I had it four years and only changed oil. this '22 f150 is also clean through the first year. I did not get the lighted cupholder or the temp dial indicators... though the '21 had them. I really don't care. both trucks use the same 10 sp auto now.. so I think they are both decent and probably close to equal except for the tech of the ford. IWE is gone on my 502A too. I have the 2.7 - why I like it better than the 5.3 is the oil changes are way less of a mess. that is not a big difference to make a decision on... so the al body is the main gap between the two vendors... that I can tell. I prefer the ford body - have had rust on my Yukon from 2005 earlier than I wanted...

I'd be purchasing one to pull a travel trailer so cargo capacity is very important to me. So I'd be looking at a XLT SCAB 4x4 302a w/ the Max Tow and Sport packages. Try to keep the weight down as much as I can while still having some creature comforts. Maybe I'd get the B&O 8 speaker setup to treat myself. No auto 4x4 for my trim level, not sure if that makes a difference in the IWE issues of yore. I just read something on this forum that Ford went electromagnetic for the 4x4? No more vacuum?

The oil burning issue was resolved about 5 years ago. My 2018 5.0 runs great!
"IF" I were to buy another F150, I would get the 5.0
I get almost as good mpg on highway as most powerboosts.

GM makes a pretty nice truck, so does Ram.

Ford trucks are priced way too high...and people are still buying them with missing options.
In comparison to competitors...Ford seems to come out the most expensive.
I can buy a new fully equipped Escalade with premium luxury package for cheaper than a new Lariat.
Ford is pretty slow at getting fixes done.

My 2018 Lariat with 4A hasn't had any issues to date..

People in general...not just those who own an F150 love to bitch about everything and anything!!!
Good Luck choosing a new vehicle!

109,000km (67729 miles) on my early 21, no problems at all, all OTA updates come regularly and I drive this truck 120km daily. Like others have said, people come here to air problems looking for solutions and some of come here to read the problems and provide suggested solutions.

Good luck on whatever truck you choose.

My truck (see sig.) has 1655lbs of payload and I use it to tow a 30' travel trailer that weighs 7,000lbs and two e-bikes in the bed and it tows great. I have the standard tow package. My WDH is dialed in and it only squats about 1" in the rear and 1/4" lift in the front.

A buddy of mine has a 302A FX4 SCREW 3.5EB with the standard tow pkg with over 1800lbs of payload and tows a 33' travel trailer and he loves the setup.

Edit: I have 25k miles on my truck and zero issues.

Mine has been trouble free but holy **** the transmission drives me insane with these shift points. I don’t think I can live with it for another 4 or 5 years

I have a 2022 Platinum Power boost with ~7500 miles on it and love it. Is it perfect, no, but none are. It has a few bugs now and then, but they are minor. I just went on a trip from Dallas to Galveston and back and averaged ~23.5 mpg total and a lot of that was 80 mph driving.
