In case you were wondering.. The PowerBoost can handle charging the Mach-E with the 220V mobile charger at the full 30A!!
When it was plugged into the truck you could see the gauges inside the truck slowing start to tick up further and further until both A and B circuits read 3,500 watts per side.
The truck will not shut the engine off while drawing the 7,000 watts it will continue run at idle.
If you're wondering, the Mach-E was at 38% charge and it said it would be fully charged in 8 hours with the PowerBoost charging it. Ultimately this should be the same amount of time if you plugged it into a normal 220v outlet.
To get this up and running you only need two things (A generator cord and a adapter). Technically only one thing if you don't want to extend the length of the cable coming from the truck.
I had to purchase a NEMA L14-30 to NEMA 14-50 RV adapter. Apparently Ford uses a 50amp plug with a 30amp charger. I assume this has something to do with the bigger chargers you can purchase that would require the 50amp socket. It may be a standard with car chargers too I just don't know..
wonder how many gallons per hour the truck burns doing that
When we were at the BFT Truck event they told us it would run ~32 hours on a single tank of gas. It will turn off the truck before it runs out of gas so you can get to a station too.
