Default Power Window Switch

2021 Standard cab. Intermittent issue. Drivers window - the switch works fine up and down. Next time goes down but will not up. Hit the switch a few times and it eventually goes up. A few times I want to crack the window open and it goes down and immediately hit switch and doesn't stop. Other times it works perfectly.

Passenger side works fine - Should I replace just the switch or should I invest in a master switch and replace everything. I have heard there are some issues with the master switch but don't know what models are affected

One of those nuts that prefers windows down over air conditioning. But now in Ohio winter weather I can't have a window stuck all they way down

There is a known problem that people have with opening and closing their windows. Before you try to replace the switch, it might be worth trying the reset procedure. Can't promise it'll help, but it won't cost you anything.

Resetting One-Touch Close
Carry out all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence.
  1. Close the window.
  2. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for a few seconds.
  3. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for a few seconds.
  4. Press and hold the window control switch until the window is fully open. Keep the window control switch pressed for a few seconds.
  5. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed. Keep the window control switch held for a few seconds.
Note: Repeat the procedure if the window does not close when you use one-touch.

Also, a new switch might not fix the issue you're having either. There could be a problem with the power window control module.

Not sure this will help but once in a while my driver's side window controls stop working and if I push the mirror adjust button the windows start working again. No clue why this happens.

Definitely try what Seabass92 said. In addition, even my ‘24 made about 6 months ago it had a software update available for DDM and PDM in FDRS when I updated all the modules 2 months ago. The driver door module and passenger door modules had something to do with window and door locking operations. After both completed, FDRS ran a built-in test to reset the window opening process. I don’t know what issue it was trying to fix but the point is that it might not be a hardware fix (e.g. switch) that’s needed.

I'll try that and hope the window doesn't stay down. Sad something so simple they had to make super complicated

I'm having the same issue. Mine only occurs in cold weather. When the truck is warm, no issues.

Finger dexterity is a must. Gone are the days for the push it and forget.

Lightest of touch with today's switches sometimes is more than enough.

follow up tried what Seabass92 suggested. window seems to be working correctly now.
Curious - watched youtube videos and everyone replaces the entire switch assembly but Ford shows you can buy the switch separately.
Bought an assembly for a 4 door before posting my question. Figured it was cheaper than a single switch but could not figure out how the switch can be removed without damage to the assembly
Also thought all 4 switches would be the same but the back are different than the front two ( just not the photo on the switch - front has 2 clicks in each direction , back only has one)
