Default Power Tailgate with Keyfob

I've got a 2022 402A Tremor with power tailgate.
I'm having trouble when I use the keyfob to open or close the tailgate.

The power tailgate works fine when using the switch on the dash, or when using the button on the tailgate. However it is intermittent when using the keyfob.
Sometimes the keyfob will not open it regardless of how many times I press the button. But if I open the tailgate using the button on the tailgate first, then the keyfob works fine over and over again as it should. When I see the problem, the taillights blink but there is no beep.
I've tried both key fobs. I've tried hitting lock and unlock on the key fob first.
It seems like the tailgate needs to wake up by using the dash switch or tailgate switch.

I've turned to tailgate to manual and then auto in the settings screen. That seems to get it to work for a while but then it acts up after a couple days..

Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealer.

Any thoughts?

Try waking the truck with a lock/unlock and see if that remote lower works after that.

I’ve noticed the same issue. There are times it lowers just fine and others where it does what you described. When it doesn’t want to cooperate, once I open the door it seems to work then.

Can power tailgate be added after the fact and enabled? I know I have a button on my fob to open it, but it just unlocks it and the dampener controls it’s descent down.

You need a whole new tailgate. I believe they are different.

I tried opening the door and it worked.. But that makes the remote tailgate "NOT VERY USEFUL".
I want to open the tailgate when I'm approaching the truck at Home Depot with a load of items. If I have to open the door, I might as well just open the tailgate.

Has anyone else had this issue?

If you have remote start you can start it and then see if it lowers.

I'm experiencing the same - did you find any solution? I'm thinking my tonneau cover might be causing issue with a sensor..
