Is it plastic or metal? My truck is at the dealership and I'm looking to color match it myself.

the tailgate itself is metal, the applique is plastic(unless something changed)

Ford calls this component an Applique.
It's actually both materials, with a plastic molded structure that has the mounting clips installed, and a metal cover (the visible part).
