Default Payload Question

I'll be receiving 2000lbs of mulch in a couple days. The delivery company will deliver it to the end of my driveway. My truck has around a 1500lbs payload capacity. Would it be an issue or cause any damage to put the 2k lbs pallet on my truck and then drive it 30 yards up my driveway?

Yeah I don't think that's too concerning. My concern would be someone dropping 2k of rocks or something into the bed, a ton of weight coming down at once from even a short distance could wreck the truck. But if it's on a pallet like you said and someone rests the pallet using a forklift, I can't see it being too bad. Just keep in mind YOU take up a portion of that Payload, as does anything else in the truck. Payload doesn't just refer to what you can put on the back. So eat a light breakfast and probably don't have anyone else along for the short trip.

Drop in a piece of plywood or something so when the pallet slides, no nails sticking out of the bottom will tear the bed open like a can of your favorite beverage.
