Default Paint issues

Wondering who has had any paint issues.? I have a 22 F150 in the silver metallic. Truck was built in December 21. Paint seemed normal but now I’m starting to get a few small random spots where you can see the white primer or what ever is underneath the silver paint. I realize it’s a truck not a Ferrari, but my concern is long term. If in a couple years I’m going to have a truck that looks like it mid 90’s GMC.
Obviously is something Ford would not consider a problem.
Truck is kept outside unfortunately. I had some type of ceramic stuff put on it when it was new.
Truck has been washed in touch less or wand car washes.
Overall happy with the truck. Beginning to wonder if my choice of Metallic was wrong. Previous super duty and Ranger held up well with regular white paint.

Thanks

I dinged my door the other day to bare metal, the paint does seem much thinner compare to my old ram.

OP…Was the ceramic coating this, done at the dealer?

https://fordprotect.ford.com/surfacecare

If so, that gives you even more ammo in your fight.

Underlying metal is aluminum. If you live in the salty north like I do, it’ll hold up better than a 2024 GMC, much less one from the ‘90’s.

Will need pics to properly help.

1. You're starting to see through the paint? Meaning what? It was fine, and then over time seems to be deteriorating? Or was it always there, and you're just noticing now? Ford silvers(and other manufacturers for that matter) notoriously do not put enough color on. Dealt with that warranty issue many times when I worked at Ford. Still deal with it at Honda/ Hyundai

2. What was the ceramic? This is kind of important. Many dealer installed ceramics are not ceramic. Simply snake oil. And some can damage paint. When i worked at a Ford/ Lincoln/ Mercury dealership they would have quick lane put what was called Zylon on all the Lincolns. They didn't know what they were doing, and i repainted about 20 Lincolns. Because it ruined the paint. Etched permanent water spots in it. That could only be removed by sanding.

If it wasn't done at the dealer, what was the name of the ceramic?
