Hello everyone. I just traded in my 2019 F250 KR for a 2021 F150 XLT PowerBoost with the 6.5' bed. I do a lot of kayaking in the summer and want to install a overland rack to mount a roof top tent to. It seems as if all the manufacturers are only going up to 2020 models and I cannot seem to figure out if there are any changes to the bed dimensions between the 2020 and the 2021 models.

Does anyone have any information on this? I feel like this is such a basic question, but I've researched for the last week and cannot figure out why a 2020 rack won't fit a 2021.

 

The beds are the same dimensions - it's the manufacturer of the rack that needs to get a hold of a '21 model to certify it will fit.

 

Not related to a rack, but I reached out to Bakflip to ask if my 2015-2020 MX4 will fit the 2021, as they seemed to change the part number for 2021. They said it will technically fit as overall dimensions are the same, but the siderails were changed (my guess is they are a bit thinner) so they said it may not sit exactly right or need further adjustment.

I don't have my '21 yet to say for sure unfortunately, but they were pretty quick with the reply so I would be cautious.
