So I recently purchased a 2021 F150 and found out it has a governor on it. Can it be bypassed?

By found out, you mean you hit a 100 and it wouldn't accelerate further? Running the quarter maybe?

They can be bypassed through a tune, but they exist because the stock tires your truck came with are likely not rated for much over where the governor is set. So if you change out the tires and get the truck tuned you can alter the limiter.

This message will self destruct in 10 posts...seems to be a very verbotten subject.

Governed to 106, tires are rated to at least 118. Scratching head on that one. It is a sad thing when a friggin' PRIUS passes you on the turnpike...sigh.

Ofcourse it was on the track. I would NEVER drive over the speed limit. I’ve been looking for a tuner and in-take and haven’t found anything yet..

Some of the other forums I'm on have a "and whatever you do, don't put a jumper between pins 7 and 10 on THIS plug (shows picture) or else you'll defeat the governor..."
lol!

When you set your MyKeys you can turn off the speed limiter. I did that on my '11 and '18 5.0L. because the limiter (governor) would always cut off at around 86 mph. I've "heard" someone has buried their needle on their '21 2.7EB after turning off their limiter just to test the waters.

I did not know this. I hit 95 this morning with my 3.5 on a closed course toll road with no traffic.
