I placed my order on 4/20 (with a $1000 deposit) but I haven't heard anything from the dealership about being confirmed from Ford etc. How and when do you start receiving emails from Ford? or do you? Perhaps everyone just starts checking the dealership website for an in progress order?

your salesman should have given you information on how to track your order. and he/she should keep in touch with you regarding the status of your truck as the build process goes on

 

Depending on what is on your order (parts restricting scheduling) and what priority and other aspects of your order the deal submitted it as, you may get your VIN within a week of the dealer submitting the order or it may be longer. Once you have a VIN and order number, you can do some basic tracking here:
