Oil consumption
2021 F-150 Lariat 5.liter V8;
At 14.6K miles I was down a quart according to Valvolene, where I get my oil changed. No leaks as my garage floor is clean. At 17.6K miles Valvolene says no oil appeared on the dipstick. Again, no leaks on my garage floor. I run their blend (part synthetic) and proper viscosity as that’s what Ford specifies. I do have an inordinate amount of idle time, approaching almost half the time the vehicle is running which is about 3 hours a day. Anyone else experiencing oil consumption?

My 2020 is going through about 2L every 5000km (oil changes done every 8-10k) and it only has 35k on it, just switched it to 5w30 for this oil change done at 32k the level hasn't dropped yet. Haven't gone in for the tsb pcm reprogram yet. My 22 5.0 hasn't had any issues as of yet but it's been parked for the winter.
6215 miles on mine. I didn't even look at the dipstick until my first change. First change was at 4965 and level is exactly the same at the moment. Before getting worried I would start checking the level regularly yourself, and I would also recommend getting it changed at the dealer until the warranty is up. It makes things like this a lot easier to deal with.
The 5.0 Oil burners were just supposed to be 18-20 model years, maybe one of those engines slipped into your 21 model.
Definitely have the dealer verify and to the dipstick TSB and engine vacuum adj TSB and monitor oil consumption.

Valvoline did it right. After my last F-150 5.0 L (2011) debacle when the dealer only put in 5 qts of oil and my truck started to act sluggishly around 5000 miles after that oil change while I was on a limited access highway, pressed the accelerator expecting a downshift into a passing gear but instead got much more of a downshift than I expected, it was like a deliberate downshift into first gear at 65 mph. After that I had a ticking sounded like a sticky valve but the mechanics said it was coming from much lower, probably a bearing… I’ve got to give credit to that engine… it ran perfectly for 5000 miles before any indication something was wrong. What’s strange is there were no warning lights or indicators of a low oil level or oil pressure. The sluggishness went away and the engine ran just fine but the ticking was still there. So I can now say I watch everything like a hawk when it comes to oil changes.
