Default Off road front camera view

Cryptic?
I have a base truck.
So, when off roading, came to realize I could not see over the hood for, say, 10-12 feet.
As I traveled, the truck changed paths, ruts, etc. - and by the time I got to exactly where the worst clearance spot (rock/boulder) was I had forgotten where it was.
So I misaligned and hit 2 that day... on the pass. LCA bracket.
I see some trucks have an emblem embedded front camera.
Should I pursue that?
Does it look directly down enough to avoid obstacles 4 wheeling?
(Say, see the bumper and a rock directly in front, like 3 inches away.)
If so, can such be added to base truck (small screen, only rear camera now), possibly through existing wires(?) and a few tweaks in Forscan?
THX
